Awards Terms & Conditions
No Guarantee of Funding. Submitting an application does not guarantee that funding will be awarded. All funding decisions are made at the sole discretion of the trustees and staff of the Serlin Family Foundation and are final.
Use of Funds. Any grants awarded must be used solely for the purpose(s) stated in the application.
Monitoring and Reporting. Successful applicants may be required to provide progress updates, financial records, or other documentation relating to the use of the grant.
Liability. The Serlin Family Foundation accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, or liability incurred by applicants or third parties as a result of applying for, receiving, or using a grant. Applicants are solely responsible for their project activities and any associated risks.
Withdrawal or Recovery of Funds. The Serlin Family Foundation reserves the right to withhold, withdraw, or reclaim funds if: (i) the grant is not used for its intended purpose; (ii) the applicant breaches these terms or any additional terms; or (iii) the Serlin Family Foundation becomes aware of any conduct which it considers may damage its reputation or integrity.
Publicity. The Serlin Family Foundation may publish the names of successful applicants and summaries of the projects funded. By applying, you consent to this use unless you notify us otherwise in writing.
Additional Terms. Successful applicants may be required to agree to additional terms and conditions as a pre-requisite to receiving funding.
Governing Law. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
Eligibility & Evaluation criteria
Age. Applicant or nominee must be 60 years or older.
Social Impact. The project should make a positive difference in the community, for example, health, education, inclusion, well being, and so on.
Community Involvement. The project should actively engage local people and address real community needs.
Sustainability. The initiative should show potential for long-term impact or continued activity beyond the award funding.
Innovation. Creative, original or resourceful approaches are encouraged.
Leadership. The elder should be a key driver of the project and show commitment and passion.
Financial Need. Priority will be given to projects with limited access to funding.
Use of Funds. A clear and reasonable budge or funding plan should accompany the application.
Inclusivity & Ethics. Projects must uphold values of equality, respect and non-discrimination.
